"Nothing is sweet or easy about community. Community is a fellowship of people who do not hide their joys and sorrows but make them visible to each other in a gesture of hope." - Henri Nouwen

"Commitment, by its nature, frees us from ourselves and, while it stands us in opposition to some, it joins us with others similarly committed. Commitment moves us from the mirror trap of the self absorbed with the self to the freedom of a community of shared values." - Michael Lewis

Bio: Born in New Mexico, I moved to TX in the Summer of 2008. Although I loved my family and the mountains in New Mexico I needed a change in my life so I moved to TX. So Far I really enjoy living here and TX has brought so much spiritual and life changes that have positively influenced my life.

Spiritually I officially claimed myself a Pagan when I moved to TX, even though I was already practicing solitary since 2002 (I just didn’t have the technical terminology and I was still in the “broom closet”). I finally told my entire family my belief system when I moved to TX and the majority supports me in my path.

I truly felt the call of the “higher energies” when I attended a Pagan Based Workshop at Unlimited Thought. I share this story with you here, because it was truly an eye opener for me and spoke volumes. I was attending a class about Tarot cards and what each card could mean to us. We weren’t telling fortunes, just drawing one card from our own deck and feeling with the card. I don’t normally use Tarot cards but Oracle Cards, but at this time I didn’t bring my deck because I read it was on the Tarot. When I arrived at the class people had brought extra cards and one such deck was the same deck that I use. She said that I could barrow her deck considering I didn’t have one to work with; plus I felt much more comfortable using a deck I know.

We were then instructed to draw a single card from the deck and feel what the card is saying to you, write it down and then repeat the process. We would have a discussion later about what we discovered from the deck and what we discovered about ourselves. The fist card I drew was Ixchel (Ee Shell) the Mayan Medicine Woman and Healer (she is more than that but I wont get into that here). She was beautiful to me and so I wrote down what I felt and moved on to the next card. I shuffled and drew…It was her again. Well I decided to write that down again but I didn’t think anything of it. I shuffled and drew… again I drew her. I did this a total of 3 times by myself and then I proceeded to ask someone else to shuffle the deck and I drew her a fourth time. Obviously she was trying to tell me something. ;)
Since then I have felt her presence and she has ever guided me forward in my search for more spiritualism and for better things in life.

Since then I have developed a better understanding (small pieces at a time) of the Mayan Oracle and Galactic Signatures (a kind of Zodiac but with the use of the Mayan Calendar). I am still an Eclectic Pagan but I do have a focus of balance with the Mayans. I don't believe in coloring within the lines, and I am a bright free-thinker. I also respect the views of fellow pagans, but as far as I’m concerned, religion is the sky, and no one is going to clip my wings with lines and limitations

On another note, I am a writer by profession and by hobby. I love my life and all the people who influence it (Family & Friends). I have a very vivid imagination and even more vivid dreams. I hope one day I could get a book published and maybe be as big as J.K. Rowling. Who Knows? I am already working on it but it is slow going. I have never written a novel before so it is going to take some time to work out kinks and such. I also have a rock collection and costume collection. I love costumes and I love Halloween.
